It’s that time of year when Jack Frost is starting to nibble at something – and you’ll find the FreeState Sisters out on The Avenue in Hampden with their red pails and jingle bells. We’re taking back the time honored Christmas tradition of streetside panhandling so we can better support our LBGTQ+ community.
Drop a dollar or five or ten or even one hundred in our pail and we will happily give you a blessing. Funds raised through Salvation Sisters go to support our mini-grant program, where we invite the Maryland queer community to propose their well-thought out mutual aid project and we pick a few to fund.
